Recently some guy emailed me for help. In
case other people have the same problem, here's the exact copy of my
response:
OK, here's the deal:
I may not understand and help you completely. But what I understood I will
now respond to.
I guess you have a W30. But you don't have the system disk. And without the
disk, W30 will not start. I mean it will not boot up and you will not be
able to play. So you need to create a system disk. What you need is a
Double Density disk [the symbol is 2DD and they have the capacity of 720KB
which is 0,5MB]. The newer ones which we use today are useless, because they
are High Density [ 2HD ] and have the capacity of 1,44 MB. So you need a 720KB floppy disk.
Now, you need two PC's . I mean, two OS'es, Win XP and Win98.
You format the disk under XP in DOS mode ( format a: )
WinXP doesn't allow direct access to HDD, and our programs demands it, so you
boot up Win98 and you start SDISK.
You load the IMAGE OF THE SYSTEM to the SDISK program. I guess the name of
the image is "W30110.OUT" (maybe you'll have to rename it to sdisk.out).
You transfer the image to the empty, formatted disk. (and remember, now it's
not a normal disk which can be read in a computer, because the data is in
RAW format, whereas computers recognize only FAT format, so later do not put
the disk into a floppy drive of a PC because some shit happens and you may
damage it).
When SDISK copies the image of the system to the disk, the disk will be
ready to be put into W30 Drive.
Well, I guess that's it... I did it a year ago but I hope I didn't forget
anything of the process.
