Ding-dong!!! This thing is sweet and I just couldn't ever hurt it. This is one of the best cheap vintage synths out there. A wide palette of features, sequencer, midi, and some neat, captivating '80s sound.

This '80s sound is quite specific (dusty / scratchy / metallic) but still it's much more plastic (more versatile across timbres) than the JX-8p / Juno / Alpha Juno series. The most important thing to be aware of is that you will never get any meaty basses or thunderous low end out of it, if that's what you're after. In my view this is more of a lead - string powerhouse / funk-machine than phat-bass machine. And when you add the sluggish envelopes, I think you'll agree with me that there are synths better destined for creating basses. This model seems to have been put out to fill the gaps in the Juno engine, so you get your reward this way. Various waveforms, various LFO shapes, envelope affecting pitch, oscillator sync, cross-mod - no such goodies in the Juno series. All these features are very much reminiscent of the Jupiters; they give you much more inspiring fun and enable you to explore much wider areas of sound, and I think that if we want to label any synth a "small, cheap Jupiter", it should be the JX-3p and not the Junos.

As for the interface, my opinion is that the PG-200 - like every other Roland programmer - is necessary to make your synth experience comfortable and efficient, but being forced to operate the synth through the buttons from the panel is not as painful as in Korgs (Poly-61, DW-8000, etc). The switches depress nicely and don't fatigue your fingers. Just check for the main slider if it's not dirty and distorting values.

Ding-dong!!! Ten klawisz jest slodki i nie moglbym go skrzywdzic. Jest to jeden z najlepszych tanszych polifonicznych analogow. Szeroka gama funkcji, sekwencer, midi, no i urzekajacy dzwiek lat '80tych.
