I think the A-Station would be the winner in size-to-features ratio contest. Three OSCs with all the synthy bundle, plus vocoder, plus arpeggiator, plus FX and external-in.

The Novations have quite wide patch scope but limited plasticity of the tone, which is harsh / metallic and "big" sounding most of the time. It can come unbelievably close to sounding like vitnage Akais. Actually it is the only modern VA that can sound anywhere close to vintage CEM-based Akais (which isn't that much of a virtue, because vintage Akais are not something people would die for...).

When you look at the size of this synthesizer and the interface, you see real efficiency and ergonomics at work. Nevertheless you will not escape tiny frustrations having to use a switch in order to navigate between menus, and pressing spongy (unstable) buttons to go through the options. Calkiem spoko. Naprawde niezle. Moim zdaniem jest to zwyciezca w konkursie na syntezator o jak najwiekszym wspolczynniku brzmieniowych mozliwosci do fizycznych rozmiarow. Trzy oscylatory, wokoder, arpeggiator, efekty, wejscie na sygnal zewnetrzny.

Syntezatory Novation maja wielki zakres tworzenia paczy, ale ograniczona plastycznosc brzmienia, ktore jest ostre / metaliczne i "duze" przez wiekszosc czasu.

Kiedy patrzy sie na rozmiar tego instrumentu i na interfejs, widac w pelnej krasie cos co sie zwie ergonomika. Nie uciekniemy jednak przed malymi frustracjami podczas uzywania malutkiego przelacznika i naciskania gabkowych guziczkow sluzacych do nawigacji miedzy menu i opcjami.
