It's so tiny and yet it offers as much sound possibilities as 3 synths of disparate engines and origins. Prophecy is Wavestation, MiniMoog, TB 303 and DX7 in one. It does analog (less than more), it does digital (more than less), and it does all kinds of weird and interesting stuff. Prophecy has functions galore, and names like crossloop, ramp level and LFO syncable to keytracking can make your head ache at the very beginning.

The idea of the interface is basically good & efficient, taking into account the size of the panel, but the workmanship is not the best.
I have no idea why there aren't more "soft" buttons (Nord Lead / JD800 type) in synths - is it a scarce commodity? Are they expensive? Why do we have to press the fucking buttons like a fucking thumbtack into plastic?

Prophecy is definitely one of the most usable, interesting and powerful cheap synths. It's a nice (and practically the only inexpensive) alternative allowing you to confront traditional analog sounds with more of an 'acoustic breath'. Of course there are opinions like - sounds abrasive, filter has stepping, you have to dive into menus, schmenus, blah, blah, blah. My opinion is: don't buy Prophecy as your starter synth if you're a beginner. And make sure you like the Z1 / Prophecy sound which is kinda lacking in some areas, which makes it a hole-filling-synth rather than a solid-song-base-synth, if you know what I mean.

Sama idea interfejsu jest generalnie dobra i efektywna, biorac pod uwage ograniczona powierzchnie panelu, ale wykonanie juz nie jest najlepsze. Nie rozumiem dlaczego nie stosuje sie w syntezatorach bardziej powszechnie miekkich przyciskow - czy to jakis rzadki towar? Czy sa one strasznie drogie? W imie czego musimy wciskac te guziki niczym pieprzone pineski w plastik?

Prophecy to bez watpienia jeden z najbardziej przydatnych, ciekawych i poteznych brzmieniowo modeli. Stanowi mila (i chyba jedyna tania) alternatywe, dzieki ktorej tradycyjne analogowe brzmienie mozna skontrastowac z powiewem quasi-akustyki. Oczywiscie mozna uslyszec glosy, ktore mowia: brzmi szorstko, slychac schodki na filtrze, trzeba sie zanurzac w menu i temu podobna sraka-dupaka. Moj glos mowi: nie kupuj Prophecy jesli jestes poczatkujacy i szukasz pierwszego syntezatora. No i upewnij sie ze w ogole lubisz brzmienie Z1 / Prophecy. Jest jakby wybrakowane w pewnych rejonach, dlatego Prophecy jest dla mnie bardziej dodatkiem-ozdabiaczem niz szkieletem-baza piosenki.
